At Voith Turbo Wind's booth C10 in Hall 2 an actual WinDrive can be seen for the very first time. The innovation that has won last years Hermes Award, dubbed "The Oscar for Engineers" allows for the first time in wind power history the use of power station proven synchronous generators. Beside the excellent feed-in quality a significant rise in turbine availability are the two key advantages. The WinDrive on display at Husum is one out of four prototypes that will be called into action in 2011 on board of the new BARD 6.5 offshore wind turbine. |
